MY JOURNEY WITH WARWICK BASSES - MY TRIP TO GERMANY

The best way to start this is to explain how I got my first Warwick bass. I grew up listening to Sunk Loto, Incubus, and Mudvayne. All these guys played Warwick basses. The sound blew me away, and I’ve been lucky to have an early understanding of tone preference.

In 2008 I lived in Perth, Western Australia. This is where i received my first custom Warwick. This bass is known globally from my Pantera cover, it’s recently also has an overhaul with some nice inlay work on the fretboard.

I planned this out years before launching kadeturner.com, and in my mind I was always going to be affiliated with Warwick.

The journey was not easy. Not only did I plan out my videos, I did so in such a way that this would hopefully grab their attention. The global competition is fierce.

By mid 2022 I had exhausted all of my reach in Australia. I tried the USA, then I got in touch with Germany. It’s not exactly a fast or guaranteed process.

My goal was pure, direct, and simple. Let me be affiliated with Warwick basses, share my bass videos on social media, and call me a Warwick artist.

Organising all of my videos and files was a mission, and a great lesson learned to stay organised. You never know who is going is contact you. In January of 2023 I flew over to Germany. I stayed at HP and Nico’s home for a week and filmed everyday I was there.

I went over try something new with Warwick. My Australian approach was received nicely and we worked on the videos. I received my second custom bass upon arriving. We made one demo video of which you can view here.

I also played two Mammal songs from our upcoming album.

Keanu Reeves and Doubt.

The content has been created professionally, and have been received well on Warwick’s Social media accounts. The whole experience showed me what working with the team was like, what goes into keeping a successful workshop running, and most importantly, what I can deliver under a lot of pressure.

We’ve decided to stretch the content out over 2023, and have discussed a 2024 return for a new run of videos. The whole team are a bunch of legends and I had an amazing time.

Onwards and upwards.
