IM BROKEN - PANTERA

Yes!!! … it feels great to be releasing this cover.

Pantera were like a religion to me growing up. Since I was a child I’ve been fascinated with them.

They’re heavy, and just an amazing band. The impact they’ve had on the world is very significant and how hard they’ve worked in their younger years is inspiring. Safe to say their albums changed my life.

I filmed this video almost a year ago, but we’d not planned for the sun going down so soon, and didn’t have adequate lighting, so I decide to re-film it.

I was extremely particular about this video because I wanted it to show my backyard, with Australian gum trees, in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges of Australia.

There’s not a huge range of Pantera covers online, which is weird to me. Doing this has made me hungry to do more.

I put some thought into the audio for this track, as I wanted to do it justice and be innovative, coming up with my own tone. I’ve used my custom Warwick Corvette bass, I think it suited this track well.

The detailed tone video explains the whole signal chain and exactly how I pulled this sound.

My ex-band mate from Branch Arterial, Tim Chilman, is the guitarist. And he happens to be a massive Pantera fan. He was stoked for the opportunity.

Initially it was just for the solo, but I thought it would work well us rocking out together through the outro.

Dylan Mitrovich was the audio engineer. Working with him is a privilege and he’s one of the best I know.

Total respect to the band members, fallen and not fallen, and the loyal fans around the world.
